AFTER India lost a five-match T20I series against West Indies on Sunday the former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan urged the Indian management to analyze the defeat against a lower-ranked opponent.

West Indies beat India by eight wickets in the fifth (series decider) T20I to win the series by 3-2 in Lauderhill, Florida. This was India’s first series loss in 13 T20Is since July 2021.

Irfan Pathan congratulated West Indies for their victory and suggested India to analyze the defeat.

“Congratulations to the West Indies team on a well-deserved series win! Team India must reflect on this defeat, as losing to a lower-ranked team is indeed worrisome”tweeted Irfan Pathan.

After losing the first two matches, India bounced back strongly and clinched the next two games to level up the series but couldn’t continue with the momentum in the decider as they suffered their first T20 series loss against West Indies since 2017.

After opting to bat first, India posted 165/9 in 20 overs, thanks to Suryakumar Yadav’s 61 off 45 and Axar Patel’s little cameo of 13 off 10. In response, opener Brandon King (85 not out) and Nicholas Pooran (47) fired for West Indies as the host wrapped up the match and the series.

After this series team India will play three match T20I series against Ireland and India ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah will make a comeback in the series.
