Former cricketers Manoj Tiwary and others sent their wishes to former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly on his 52nd birthday. Ganguly, who was called as ‘God of off side’ by former teammate Rahul Dravid, made many superb contributions in the field of cricket. “You are, you were and you will always be an inspiration!! Love you Dada and wishing you a very happy birthday,” Tiwary wrote on X.

Along with sending wishes, Patel praised Ganguly for his development of Indian cricket.

During his career, Ganguly led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League(IPL). The IPL franchise wished their former captain and captioned their post on X, “Maharaja. Dada. The Prince of Kolkata. Happy Birthday, Sourav Ganguly.”

Even though he was a batter who could play with both grace and accuracy, his career had to come to an end in 1996. He was elevated to the top of the ODI order later that same year, and he and Sachin Tedulkar together constituted one of the most potential opening combinations in history.

Ganguly was infamous for his specific leadership style throughout his time when he was on pitch. In summer of 1996, in his Test debut against England, he earned the nickname of ‘Dada’. Shortly after, he mad headlines as he scored a century in his first Test at Lord’s and ‘Prince of Kolkata’ then went to score another century in his second test, becoming the 3rd batter to make a hundred in each of his first two innings in history.
