Martin Guptill scores an important half-century for New Zealand against England on Day Two of the First Test at Lord’s. Guptill is playing his first innings in nearly two years for New Zealand in Tests and will be delighted with the kind of start he has gotten off to in this match. Guptill was given a life when he was dismissed of a no ball off the bowling of Mark Wood, denying the England bowler his first Test wicket on his debut. Guptill has built an excellent partnership with Tom Latham, who is playing a steady innings at the other end. Latham too was let off as he was dropped by Ian Bell at the slip cordon. England have to improve on their fielding a little bit in order to get back in this match. Earlier Stuart Broad, James Anderson and Wood had bowled an excellent spell to the opening batsmen.
