Musheer Khan’s remarkable performance, scoring 131 runs and taking 2 wickets for 10 runs in 3.1 overs, played a crucial role in India’s convincing 214-run win against New Zealand in the first game of the Super Six stage at the 2024 U19 World Cup. Musheer’s innings included a stunning helicopter shot, reminiscent of legendary captain MS Dhoni, making him the leading run-scorer in the tournament.

Executing the helicopter shot in the 46th over, Musheer hit a massive six over deep mid-wicket, showcasing a skill often associated with Dhoni. Interestingly, Dhoni had learned this shot from his childhood friend Santosh Lal, as depicted in his biopic, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’.
Musheer’s innings, where he formed partnerships with Adarsh Singh and captain Uday Sharan, helped India set a challenging target of 296. In the New Zealand innings, Saumy Pandey’s impressive bowling performance, claiming four wickets for just 19 runs, contributed to New Zealand collapsing at 81. Raj Limbani and Musheer took two wickets each.
