New Zealand’s Ross Taylor made merry on Day Three of the first Test as he added 173 runs for his team in their first innings. He reached his fourteenth Test century in process and also compiled 253 runs with BJ Watling, who also scored a ton. Taylor has now scored the second most century by a New Zealander and is just behind Martin Crowe. Before the end of Day Three, Zimbabwe lost half of their side and are still trailing New Zealand by 291 runs to make them bat again.
