WEST Indies defeated India in the final T20I to win the series 3-2. Pooran led from the front and played a significant role in West Indies’ series win, top-scoring for the team with 176 runs. Pooran played an unbeaten knock of 47 in the final game to lead West Indies to a series win. This was West Indies’ first series win over India since 2016.
Pooran received the Man of the Series award for his stunning show. The Windies captain batted through pain in the series decider. Pooran was hit in the abdomen by an Arshdeep Singh delivery before he took another blow when a Brandon King shot hit his forearm. Pooran took to social media and showed his bruises while thanking Arshdeep and King for their blows.

West Indies have been below par in the recent few months. The team failed to qualify for the ODI World Cup for the first time in history. The Men from the Caribbean then suffered Test and ODI series defeat to India. However, the win in the T20I series will give them a lot of confidence.
Coming back to the match, West Indies did well to restrict India to 165-9. Suryakumar Yadav once again top-scored for the team with a classy 61. However, he did not get any support from other batters as India could only score 165-9.
