Once Nottinghamshire put up 445 for 8 in 50 overs in a North Group match of Royal London One-Day Cup at Trent Bridge, few gave Northamptonshire a chance. However, Northamptonshire fought back, thanks to a 69-ball 97 by Adam Rossington, and down the order, an astonishing 63-ball 128 by Rory Kleinveldt. At 206 for 5 Northamptonshire were almost out of the match, but Kleinveldt added 92 with Steven Crook and 98 with Graeme White to keep them in the match. Unfortunately, Richard Levi, having injured his wrist, could only emerge at No. 11. He hit a six, but was bowled by Harry Gurney as Northants lost by a mere 20 runs. The aggregate for the match read a whopping 870, a mere 2 short of the world record of 872, scored in the famous Johannesburg ODI between Australia and South Africa, back in 2005-06. Interestingly, the match also recorded the second-highest List A team total (445 for 8 by Nottinghamshire) and the second-highest List A opening partnership (342 between Michael Lumb and Riki Wessels).
