West Indies need 171 to win their opening encounter of ICC Champions Trophy 2013 against Pakistan at the Oval. West Indies picked up early wickets that pegged back Pakistan considerably.
For Pakistan, Misbah-ul-Haq top-scored with an unbeaten 96. He joined opener Nasir Jamshed at 15 for three. Kemar Roach picked up the thre early wickets. Imran Farhat was out for two edging one in the second-slip in the first over. Mohammad Hafeez was out bowled for four. Asad Shafiq tried to break free attempting an upper-cut. He was out caught at third-man for a duck.
Misbah and Jamshed added 90 for the fourth wicket. Sunil Narine then picked up Jamshed for 50 and soon dismissed Shoaib Malik (0) and Kamran Akmal (2). Pakistan lost momentum.
Misbah took the onus of scoring runs on himself. He remained unbeaten on 96 and lost the partners. Pakistan were dismissed in the 48th over for 170.
For West Indies, Roach and Narine took three wickets each.
