Jitesh Sharma’s T20 World Cup ticket is reportedly starting to print, according to former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel.According to him, Jitesh Sharma’s T20 World Cup ticket is now being printed. On Wednesday, January 17, India will play Afghanistan in the third and final Twenty20 International of their series at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

In his two T20I matches against Afghanistan, Jitesh scored 31 and 0 points, respectively. After a stellar performance in the 2023 Indian Premier League for Punjab Kings, where he struck for 156.06 and scored 309 runs, he made his debut in the Indian T20I lineup.

Parthiv stated in an interview with Jio Cinema that Jitesh’s T20 World Cup ticket has been printing gradually since India needs a potent batter down the order. In T20Is, Jitesh has ran up 100 runs for India in seven innings while hitting 147.05.

The most likely choice for India is to have a wicketkeeper who can bat down on the order. You need a disruptive hitter if you have to bat down the order. Jitesh Sharma is a really good option the way he’s playing, and Parthiv felt his ticket to the World Cup has started to print a little bit.

He continued by saying that Jitesh’s approach to his innings in the opening Twenty20 International demonstrated his ability to build an innings. Jitesh has hit five boundaries and scored 31 runs in 20 deliveries.”He came to bat before the tenth over in the first T20 International, but the sample size is very small.” I believe he played with a great understanding of the circumstances. He didn’t need to bat in the same manner as before. He needed to play his shots after settling in a little and maintaining a modest strike rate. It implies that he demonstrated yet another quality, namely his ability to construct an innings,” Parthiv continued.

Given that there is a jam at the top of the batting order with several possibilities, Patel believes that the club management is placing a lot of faith in Jitesh.

“Yes, they are undoubtedly doing that, and the quantity of openers or top-order hitters on the Indian side is the reason for that. Because of Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, wounded Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shubman Gill, who opened in the opening game, there is a bit of a traffic jam at the top.
