Tony Hemming of Australia has been appointed to the position of chief curator by the Pakistan Cricket Board for a two-year period.
This is the first time the PCB has extended an offer of a long-term contract to a foreign curator; previously, it had employed international curators such as Andy Atkinson to help raise the caliber of pitches made in the nation.
Hemmings is from the Australian state of Western Australia.
The Australian has four decades of expertise managing pitches and outfields, having worked on grounds in Melbourne, Perth, and Hobart in addition to overseeing tracks in Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The Australian has previously worked with the Indian Cricket Board (ICC).
The foreign curator is responsible for overseeing the pitch preparation for the domestic season as well as enhancing the quality of pitches for the forthcoming home series against Bangladesh, England, and the West Indies this season.
