PRITHVI Shaw’s dream run in the London One Day Cup continued as the swashbuckling batter whacked his second century of the season.

Chasing a target of 199 runs against Durham, Shaw smashed a century in just 68 balls, taking the team to a stunning win by six wickets. Prithvi smashed 15 fours and seven sixes in his blistering knock of 125 in 76 balls.

Shaw has been in prime form in the Royal London One-Day Cup. The 23-year-old batter blasted a magnificent 244 in just 153 balls against Somerset.

Shaw burst onto the scene as someone with great potential. He was often compared to the great Sachin Tendulkar and was fast-tracked into the Indian team.

His success though was short-lived as he was dropped from the Indian team owing to poor form and fitness after jut 12 games across formats.

Shaw is not in the reckoning for the World Cup squad. Also, with the emergence of players like Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, he has fallen behind the pack. The thing that works in his favour is that he is only 23 and has enough time to work on his fitness and game. Consistent performances will surely get him back on the selectors’ radar.
