PSL 2018: Multan Sultans maul Quetta Gladiators by 9 wickets; Imran Tahir shines with a hat-trick

Riding on an Imran Tahir hat-trick, Multan Sultans notched up their third win of PSL 2018. Sultans beat Quetta Gladiators by 9 wickets, chasing just 103 to win. Kumar Sangakkara led Sultans charge with a sturdy fifty, adding 66 in 64 balls with Ahmed Shehzad before the latter fell for 27 to Hasan Khan, captain of Pakistan’s Under-19. Sohaib Maqsood then helped Sangakkara see his side through. Sangakkara went on to score a fifty off 43 balls, his 42nd in T20s.

Batting first, Quetta kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Only skipper Sarfraz Ahmed kept his team’s hope alive with 30 off 33 balls. Shane Watson and Mahmudullah made 19 and 15 respectively. Sohail Tanvir and Junaid Khan claimed 5 wickets between them before Imran Tahir claimed a hat-trick. Tahir’s hat-trick ensured Gladiators were all out for 102.
