On a day of toil for Nagaland bowlers, Uttarakhand batsmen made hay as the pair of Vineet Saxena and Vaibhav Singh scored centuries to take their team to 371/4.

On Day 2 of their Ranji Trophy 2018-19, Plate, Round 6 match, Uttarakhand had taken a lead of 164 runs thanks to a Vineet Saxena‘s unbeaten 150 and Vaibhav Singh’s 101.
Resuming on their overnight total of 73/2, Uttarakhand lost Vaibhav Bhatt to Abrar Kazi for 22. Saxena and Vaibhav then blunted Nagaland’s attack with a big partnership for the fourth wicket.
The wicket of Bhatt turned out to be the visitor’s only success of the morning session as the hosts reached 172/3 at lunch. After the game recommenced, both Saxena and Vaibhav went on to complete their respective centuries.
Vaibhav struck 14 fours and a six during his stay before being caught off Rachit Bhatia. His association with Saxena was worth 174 runs that put Uttarakhand in the driving seat.
Saxena recorded his 17th first-class century as he reached 150 off 329 at the close of play. He has struck 15 fours so far in his innings and has Saurabh Rawat (41* off 86) for company. The duo has added 83 runs for the fifth wicket.
