Rohit Sharma, captain of Indian cricket team, has found himself in a social media controversy regarding his new profile picture. While celebrating India’s recent T20 World Cup victory, some fans have taken offence to the specific photo he chose.

The photo in question features Sharma celebrating India’s win at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. While it seems like a joyful moment, the controversy starts from the Indian tricolour touching the ground.

Social media users highlight a clause from the Prevention of Insults to national Honor Act, 1971: “The flag shall not ne allowed intentionally to touch the ground or the flow or trail in water”.
