Ross Taylor’s unbeaten ton takes New Zealand to 307/5 against Bangladesh in 3rd ODI

A late flurry of big hits from Ross Taylor (107 not out) helped New Zealand to post formidable total of 307 for five against Bangladesh in the third One-Day International at Fatullah.
The Kiwi innings was shaped with a 130-run partnership in just over 22 overs between Taylor and Colin Munro (85). Taylor hit three sixes and seven boundaries in the last five overs to get to his century.
New Zealand made as many as four changes in the team with Tom Latham joining Anton Devcich instead of the regular opener Hamish Rutherford. The pair got the Kiwis off to solid start putting 66 in under 14 overs. Mahmudullah got the first breakthrough of the morning when Devcich went for a sweep and the ball lobbed to short fine-leg where Abdur Razzak took a simple catch. New Zealand lost a couple of wickets until the team reached the three figure mark. Grant Elliott was out cheaply for three while Tom Latham was dismissed for 43 by Rubel Hossain.
From thereon, Anderson and Taylor boosted the Kiwi total. Munro was finally dismissed in the 44th over caught by the wicketkeeper off the bowling of Mahmudullah. His 77-ball knock of 85 included seven boundaries and two sixes.
The momentum of the game completely shifted in the last five overs, when Taylor after completing his fifty went ballistic. In the 47th over Sohag Gazi was clobbered for three sixes by Taylor. In the next over he hit three boundaries off Mashrafe Mortaza. Taylor got to his ton in the 50th over with a boundary.
New Zealand have already lost the series but a win in this match will help them to salvage some pride.
