Australian pacer Ryan Harris is eager to lay his hands on the broken bat of Michael Carberry during the Ashes 2013-14. It was one of the bizarre moments in cricket when Harris’ delivery saw Carberry defending on the front foot only to see the bat broken in two after the ball smashed on the meat of the bat.

“I actually tried to get the bat to frame it. I think the Lord’s museum snapped it up straight away. It’s one of those things. I bowled the ball and went to turn around noticed half of the bat was moving. It’s something I’ve never seen before.

“You feel pretty good, that was pretty quick to break a bat in half like that. It’s one of those amazing things you don’t see very often, Harris was quoted as saying by the official website of Cricket Australia.

However, Harris’ dream of keeping the broken bat as a memoir may take some time as the souvenir has been taken by the Bradman Museum at Bowral.
