Ryan McLaren moves to Dolphins in South African domestic cricket

Ryan McLaren moved away from the Knights and has joined Dolphins.

Ryan McLaren, the South African all-rounder has moved from the Knights to the Dolphins in South African domestic cricket. McLaren has been a central figure at Knights for a decade and switches to Dolphins for a new beginning, where he would run shoulders with David Miller, Kyle Abbott and Morne Van Wyk to name a few.

 

Sport24 quoted McLaren, “”I have been playing for Knights for 10 years of my cricket career and was looking for a change in environment. I’m looking forward to the new challenge and I hope that this new opportunity will bring about a positive change to my cricket career.”

 

Lance Klusner, the coach of the Dolphins said, “Ryan McLaren is one of the premier all-rounders in the country and his decision to play for the Dolphins next season is exciting news for both fans and the team. The way he plays his cricket and what he will bring to the team will compliment us very well. I wish him a long and happy stay with the Dolphins.”

McLaren has been a regular fixture in the South African one-day side and made his comeback in Test cricket after the retirement of Jacques Kallis. He played the recent first Test against Australia, but was injured when Mitchell Johnson hit him on the head.
