Sachin Tendulkar wishes fans on Onam

The batting legend is the co-owner of football franchise Kerala Blasters.

Former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar wished his fans on the occasion of Onam via his Twitter handle. Sachin Tendulkar has a stake in the upcoming football league Indian Soccer League (ISL)’s franchise Kerala Blasters. The team features former England goalkeeper David James as it’s goalie as well as manager, and also has former Newcastle United player Michael Chopra.

“I personally feel that in such a big nation, talent is there but possibly there is no right platform or not enough opportunities to express it. This is where I would like to thank Nitabhabhi [Ambani] and Praful bhai [Patel] for making this happen for Indian Football. It is extremely important for everyone to make the most of this platform,” said Tendulkar at the official launch of the ISL.

Sachin Tendulkar had a glorious career spanning more than 20 years for India. He broke many records including the ones for maximum centuries in both One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Tests. The batsman will also release his autobiography, Playing it my way on November 6. It is a book that fans and people involved in the game of cricket can look forward to.
