Samit Dravid, the son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid, was signed by Mysuru Warriors on Thursday during the player auction in preparation for the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 season.
Samit is a seamer and middle-order batsman that Warriors hired for Rs 50,000.
A Warriors team official told PTI, “It’s good to have him in our side as he has shown a lot of promise in various age-group tournaments for KSCA.”
Samit played for the KSCA XI against the visiting Lancashire team earlier this year. He was also a member of the Karnataka under-19 team that won the Cooch Behar Trophy this season.
Karun Nair will lead Warriors, the runners-up from the previous season, and the addition of India pacer Prasidh Krishna—who cost Rs. 1 lakh—will strengthen their bowling unit.
While Prasidh just had surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon and is attempting to return to the top division of cricket, Nair was kept on by the team.
