South Africa allrounder Rory Kleinveldt on Thursday called time on his first-class career saying he lost the love for the toil.
The 35-year-old Kleinveldt has played four Tests, 10 ODIs and six T20Is for South Africa. His first-class career spanned from 2002-03 to 2018-19 during which he played 148 matches, took 454 wickets at 27.92 with 20 five-wicket hauls. He also scored 3743 runs with a century and 17 half-centuries.
Kleinveldt announced his retirement from red-ball cricket on Twitter calling his 17-year long career a great ride.
“Finally lost the love for the toil !!! Been a great ride n made some unbelievable memories!! Love to all my teammates,coaches,family n friends for the support over the 17 years!” he posted on his Twitter handle.

His last international appearance was in July 2013 in an ODI against South Africa. He has represented Cape Cobras, Hampshire (2008) and Northamptonshire (2015-2018).

His most recent first-class appearance was for Cape Cobras where he scored 42 and 19 in two innings apart from taking a solitary wicket during a six-wicket defeat to Warriors. In Tests, the medium-pacer took 10 wickets between November 2012 and February 2013.
