After being rushed to a Colombo hospital post on-field injury, Sri Lanka‘s Kaushal Silva has been declared fit for physical activities by the hospital, revealed the board. Silva, during a practice match in Pallekele Stadium, got struck by the ball while fielding at slip position as Dinesh Chandimal went for a sweep shot. The player had earlier scored a magnificent century in the same match, increasing his chances of being included in the national squad that will visit England for the upcoming series. The player was airlifted immediately after the incident occurred and was taken to a hospital in Colombo. READ : Kaushal Silva airlifted to hospital after suffering blow on head

Team manager Charith Senanayake revealed, as reported by espncricinfo.com, “Kaushal was released this morning and given a clean bill of health. The report indicates no major trauma.” He also added that the player has been “completely cleared to resume physical activity” and despite the fact will be “completely rested for two days” before “restarting training with mild gym and ground activity”.

On Sunday, as reported by the same source, “Kaushal was fielding at short leg when he got hit. (Dinesh Chandimal) swept right onto the back of Kaushal’s head. He did take evasive action, but still the ball hit him.”

Senanayake said after being hit on the head, Silva was left dazed for some time, and showed symptoms consistent with concussion.  Silva was airlifted and taken to a hospital in Kandy, where the scans were conducted.
