TNCA condoles MV Sridhar’s demise

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) on Monday condoled the demise of former BCCI general manager (Operations) Dr MV Sridhar.

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) on Monday condoled the demise of former BCCI general manager (Operations) Dr MV Sridhar. Sridhar passed away at his Hyderabad residence this afternoon following a massive cardiac arrest. In a condolence message, TNCA joint secretary R I Palani said, “the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association deeply condoles the sad demise of Dr MV Sridhar, a former First Class cricketer, former honorary secretary of Hyderabad Cricket Association and former general manager, Cricket Operations, BCCI. “A former TNCA First Division League player, Dr. Sridhar had an illustrious career both as a cricketer and cricket administrator. The TNCA sends it deepest condolence to the family members of the departed soul,” he said. A right-handed opening batsman, Sridhar played 97 first-class matches for Hyderabad and South Zone, scoring 6,701 runs at an average of 48.91. In July 2017, Sridhar was sent to the West Indies by the Indian Cricket Board following Anil Kumble’s resignation, after his much-publicised differences with skipper Virat Kohli. While Sanjay Bangar handled the coaching, Sridhar was sent to the Caribbean to have the players in good frame of mind and also get a first-hand account of their requirements. Sridhar was also the secretary of the Hyderabad CA and it is this stint which was controversial with allegations of his involvement with multiple clubs.
