To put an end to all conjecture, Virat Kohli has notified the BCCI authorities, the selection committee, and the Indian team management of withdrawing from the next three Tests against England for personal reasons. Kohli missed the first two Tests, in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, for the same reason. It was previously reported that Kohli, who was scheduled to miss the third and fourth Tests, had yet to contact BCCI authorities, but he did so on Friday.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated that the board, selectors, and team management support Kohli’s choice and are ready to provide full support. “Virat Kohli will remain unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series due to personal reasons. The Board fully respects and supports Kohli’s decision,” Jay Shah stated on saturday.

Kohli participated in India’s initial practice session before to the series opener in Hyderabad, but on the very same day, he told captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Rahul Dravid, and the selectors of his intention to sit out the first two Tests. The next day, the BCCI released a long press release demanding privacy for the former India captain.
This will be Kohli’s first home series without playing a single Test since his debut. Needless to say, this is a major blow to an Indian batting group that is struggling for major runs and has relied heavily on individual talent in this series until now.
Team India Squad for the remaining three tests: Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd.
