Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar top 3 scorers in ODI history

India opener Rohit Sharma recorded the second-highest score in One-Day International (ODI) history when he scored 209 against Australia in the seventh match of the series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday.  In the process, he became the third batsmen to score an ODI double century, after Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.

UPDATE: Chris Gayle smashed double century against Zimbabwe in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match at Canberra. India opener Rohit Sharma recorded the second-highest score in One-Day International (ODI) history when he scored 209 against Australia in the seventh match of the series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday.  In the process, he became the third batsmen to score an ODI double century, after Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.

During the course of the knock, he also surpassed the 1,000-run mark in 2013 and surpassed the record of most number of sixes earlier held by Shane Watson. Rohit slammed 16 sixes in his 209-run innings.

Later in the day, more records tumbled as Glenn Maxwell equaled Simon O’Donnell’s Australian record of fastest ODI half-century and James Faulkner struck the fastest ton by an Australian. While Maxwell brought up his 50 off 18 balls, Faulkner scored a ton in 57 deliveries. Tendulkar scored his double ton against South Africa at Gwalior in 2010. Sehwag achieved his double century against the West Indies in 2011 in Indore.
