At the age of 39, and with his ODI retirement confirmed after this year’s World Cup, Chris Gayle has become West Indies’ all-time leading run-scorer in T20Is.

Gayle, during his innings of 15 against England in St Lucia on Wednesday, moved past Marlon Samuels‘ mark of 1611.

He only needed five runs to go past Samuels and duly achieved the milestone with a six off England pacer David Willey.

Gayle was out not long after, however, when he squirted a shot straight to short third man. (FULL SCORECARD: 1st T20I)
