West Indies vs New Zealand 3rd Test Day 5 Live Cricket Score: New Zealand clinch series with 53-run win

West Indies and New Zealand are all set for a thrilling final day of their third and final Test match.

New Zealand have won their second series in the West Indies. Trent Boult took the last wicket to fall with a full swinging delivery from over the wicket to dismiss Taylor. A fine series win for the Kiwis and they deserve to win it. Also kudos to McCullum for his aggressive captaincy.

Benn has got out too. He tried to drive on the up of a slower one from Wagner and is caught by Southee at short cover. New Zealand on the verge of their second series win in the West Indies. The first one they won back in the year 2002 under Fleming’s captaincy.

J Holder has finally gout out and New Zealand needed that wicket as Holder was playing well. Fine innings by the debutant. The ball from Craig kept low from around the wicket to shatter the stumps. Benn is the new batsman to walk into the crease for the Windies.

Holder and Shillingford continued to offer resistance on the final day. Craig the off-spinner got a few to turn off the rough to trouble both but it didn’t lead to wickets. Even Williamson was getting the ball to sharply turn out of rough patches. Windies now need under 100 runs! Holder has also completed a half-century.

New Zealand bowlers bowled some short stuff to especially Shillingford. Shillingford kept playing shots to it and that encouraged Kiwis. Wagner was bowling from wide of the crease to create an angle. Even Neesham bowled a few short ones. There was a review for lbw with Shillingford ducking into a short one. It was given as not out as it was going over the stumps.

New Zealand bowlers continued to bowl incisively on the final day. Wagner the seamer even produced an edge of Shillingford the tail-ender but it fell short of the slips. West Indies have an uphill task as they look to survive against Boult, Southee and Wagner.

West Indies have ended the session at 161 for seven. New Zealand are on top here and all thanks to Trent Boult and Tim Southee. Windies have a mountain to climb. Can they pull off a miracle here? We have to wait and watch for that to unfold.

Mark Craig comes in, tosses the ball up and the Kemar Roach cannot save the day for West Indies. Its a simple bat-pad catch for Tom Latham and New Zealand edge closer to victory.

Darren Bravo has got to go…He really didn’t have to go for an expansive slash there. He cuts and finds only Kane Williamson at gully and is falling apart for West Indies. The tail is exposed now.

Denesh Ramdin goes and it is a peach of a delivery! The ball swings back into the West Indies batsman and he edges the ball to Ross Taylor at first slip. West Indies in big trouble.

Its raining again and it is even stevens at the moment. What a Test match it has been and the last day has had real ebb and flow to it so far. Let us see how long this delay goes…and here it comes….play will resume in 20 mins

Bravo has looked solid and has got his eye in. West Indies hopes in this Test lie squarely on his shoulders. Skipper Denesh Ramdin on the other hand has come in and played some expansive strokes and runs have come thick and fast for him.

Play resumes after Lunch/ Rain delay and Oh my, what a blow this is! Mark Craig tosses the ball up and invites good ol’ Shiv to have a heave at the delivery. Chanderpaul looses his footing and BJ Watling stumps him.

The covers are on in Barbados yet again. Chanderpaul and Bravo were looking good and were building a solid partnership. The two left handers are reliable and impregnable once they get their eye in. We are not sure when play will resume though.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul is showing attacking intent at the crease, mind you. The veteran has looked positive and is going for boundaries. Darren Bravo has also set his eye in. West Indies need this pair to construct a huge partnership.

There goes one more and its big fish Chris Gayle. The burly West Indian was unfortunate to have the ball dragged back to the stumps. Tim Southee joins the party and things look precarious for the hosts at the moment.

New Zealand are going for the kill and Trent Boult, after having such a quite time in the series so far is on fire. Boult induces the edge yet again. Shivnarine Chanderpaul comes in and West Indies need all of his experience to take the fight to the Kiwis.

Kraigg Brathwaite is bowled by Trent Boult. Brendon McCullum, being the tactically astute captain that he is declares. He goes for the kill and is rewarded immediately. Boult has given them an early reward!

West Indies and New Zealand are all set for a thrilling final day of their third and final Test match at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Monday. New Zealand are on 331 for seven with a lead of 307 runs in the second innings, and they are likely to declare overnight. This is Vishal Radhakrishnan and I will be bringing you the momentary updates of the game.

Kane Williamson scored a splendid 161 not out to bail New Zealand out of trouble and put them in a commanding position on the fourth day of the Test. The Kiwis revived from a vulnerable position of 68 for three after conceding a slender lead to get in a position of command. Williamson has been the star performer for them in this innings and so has been Jimmy Neesham, who scored 51.

The West Indies would be cautious on the final day as they cannot risk losing the Test series, which is currently tied at 1-1. While New Zealand slammed them by 186 runs in the first Test, the hosts bounced back to thrash them by 10 wickets in the second.
