Women’s Ashes 2015: Ellyse Perry believes “killer instinct” was key to Australia’s victory

Ellyse Perry believes win in the 2nd T20I is probably the most special win she's been a part of.

Australian pace spearhead and aggressive top-order batter Ellyse Perry feels that destructive and ruthless approach helped the team to win in the second T20 which was played at County Ground, Hove. Perry also termed the win as most special of her international career. Defending a small target of 108 runs Australian pace battery showcased some brilliant piece of fast bowling which ultimately resulted in England’s innings to fold on 87 runs. In a conversation with cricket.com.au Perry said, “The whole team has got a killer instinct to be honest. To take five wickets in the first six overs was a dream start, it was exactly what we needed to do. I think we felt we needed to take 10 wickets in less than 20 overs to win the game, and it’s so amazing how well everyone bowled and fielded today – so much better than last game. It’s unbelievable, especially to win in that fashion. The English batters had no answer to the dog-eat-dog and callous approach followed by the Australian quicks and fielders. The pacers swung the ball consistently and also bowled an occasional slower delivery.
