Looks like the recent displays of camaraderie between Yuvraj Singh and former Indian captain MS Dhoni did not melt the stonehearted Yograj Singh. Former Indian cricketer and Yuvraj’s father, Yograj has been slamming Dhoni since Yuvraj’s ouster from the ICC World Cup 2015 squad, holding him responsible for his son’s axing from the national side. Last week, Dhoni stepped down as India’s ODI and T20I captain, and later that week the selectors drafted in Yuvraj in the limited-overs side for India against England.

Despite Yuvraj’s comeback in the side, Yograj has decided to hit out at Dhoni. “Yuvraj is in the team because Dhoni is no longer the captain. I had said this couple of years ago that he would be back in the team once Dhoni wasn’t the captain. It’s proved true now,” said Yograj. Over the last couple of years, Yograj has gone to an extent of comparing Dhoni with mythological demon Ravana and even cursed him to be ‘penniless’. He had once infamously remarked, “I would have slapped Dhoni, had I been a journalist. There was a time when he was nothing but today he sits before the media and rips them apart. He laughs at media people who gave him so much hype and laughs at those who cheer him when he scores runs.” Read more on Yograj Singh and MS Dhoni

When Yuvraj made a comeback to the T20I side last year, Yograj made barbing criticisms of Dhoni under bowling his son.

Yuvraj however has always distanced himself from his father’s stinging comments. Tuesday witnessed the Dhoni leading an Indian side for the last time, in a warm-up game against England. Much to the delight of fans, both Yuvraj and Dhoni scored entertaining half-centuries.

Yuvraj posted the following video after the game:

Well done @mahi7781 on your career as captain ! 3 major wins 2 w cups time to unleash the old dhoni

Dhoni had also attended Yuvraj’s wedding reception. While father Yograj continues to rant, all is well between the two Indian cricket stalwarts.
