Imran Tahir, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja starred as Chennai Super Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders to register their seventh win in IPL 2019.

Chris Lynn was on a roll as he took on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacers and the spinners with an equal ease to bring up his eighth IPL fifty. The right-hander also completed 1000 IPL runs and gave Kolkata Knight Riders a brisk start. @BCCI


While Tahir scalped four wickets, his South African skipper Faf du Plessis held on to four catches, including a stunner to dismiss Robin Uthappa. @BCCI


While Dhoni started on a high as he and Raina counterattacked after CSK lost two quick wickets, the CSK skipper failed to score big and got out for 16. @BCCI

Piyush Chawla scalped two quick wickets – Ambati Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav – as KKR put CSK under pressure after a brisk start. @BCCI


After Dhoni’s dismissal in the 16th over, KKR would have sensed an opening but Ravindra Jadeja’s cameo, 31* off 17 balls, dashed KKR’s plans and helped CSK secure a five-wicket at the Eden Gardens. @BCCI


A lot was expected of Andre Russell once again and the West Indian allrounder got off to a flying start, scoring 10 runs from his first three balls but Tahir got the big man out as Dhruv Shorey took a catch. @BCCI


Sunil Narine, who made a comeback to the side, having missed the last game, made an impact and returned with the figures of 2/19 from the four overs. The West Indian dismissed Faf du Plessis, when he was upping the ante, and MS Dhoni to put CSK in a spot of bother in the chase. @BCCI


Even as the wickets fell at the other end, Suresh Raina, a CSK veteran, scored an unbeaten 58 off 42 balls to guide the three-time champions to their seventh win of the season. @BCCI


Imran Tahir had an evening to remember as the South Africa leg-spinner scalped four wickets as CSK restricted KKR to 161/8 despite Lynn’s blitz. @BCCI


While the other KKR batsmen failed to score big, Lynn, who missed out on the last game, made a sensational comeback to the playing XI and went onto score 82 off 51 balls. @PTI
