The home team won the coin toss and chose to field, but Delhi Capitals became only the second team in WPL 2024, after RCB, to win while batting first. Despite losing captain Lanning early on, Delhi got off to a strong start thanks to Shafali Verma and Alice Capsey. Their partnership for the second wicket added 82 runs in just 43 balls, helping Delhi Capitals, last year’s runners-up, reach a commanding total of 194/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Verma continued her good form with another half-century, following her match-winning 64 not out in the previous game against UP Warriorz. (PTI)
