Former umpire Dickie Bird praised Ashton Agar for his performance with the bat in the first innings against England. He termed his innings “fantastic” and said he wanted to see him score his century.
Talking about the controversial stumping decision which went in favour of Agar, Bird said he should have been given out. However, he extended his support for the umpires.
He also voiced his opinion regarding the use of technology; Bird said he wouldn’t prefer it as it is not perfect.
