Speaking to Cricket Australia’s official website, Brad McNamara an Executive Producer with Channel Nine said, “We like to use current players where possible. It’s a good opportunity to let the viewers inside their thought process; how they view the game, what they think. Ryan’s shown a bit of interest in how the broadcast works and how everything is put together, which is fantastic, so we see it as a great chance to get him on board. He’s also a really likeable character, and he’s one of those blokes who the Australian public would love to have a beer with. Whenever we can get guys like that involved in our coverage, it is win-win for everyone.”
